ABERDEEN, UK – Awilco Drilling has signed a contract amendment with Shell UK, granting the latter three further options on the semisubmersible WilPhoenix.
Each covers drilling of a single exploration well within or at the end of a currentUK North Sea decommissioning program. The options must be declared by end-August 2019.
The WilPhoenix is one of Awilco’s two Enhanced Pacesetter semis, equipped to drill in water depths of up to 1,200 ft (366 m).
The company also has one newbuild rig on order (Moss CS60 ECO MW design) for drilling in harsh environments, and options for an additional three rigs of the same design.
