SYDNEY, Australia – On the basis of data from the Yolla-5 and Yolla-6 development wells, Origin Energy has reduced the Yolla field gas reserves estimate, pending further evaluation of the data from the wells.

As a result, the partner in the BassGas Joint Venture, AWE Ltd., has reduced its share of the 2P reserves by 5.5 MMboe down to 13 MMboe.

“AWE will now consider accelerating development feasibility studies for the Trefoil field in adjacent permit T/18P to determine if its 2C Contingent Resources of 17 MMboe (AWE share) can be developed earlier as an incremental project to Yolla production,” said Bruce Clement, AWE managing director.

TheBassGas project as currently configured consists of the Yolla offshore wellhead platform connected by pipeline to the gas processing facility at Lang Lang. The Yolla platform is in Australia's Bass Strait, approximately 140 km (87 mi) offshore from Kilcunda, Victoria.
