Well overhauls continue at Maari oilfield offshore New Zealand

MELBOURNE, Australia – Detailed planning is set to continue for the Ironbark-1 exploration well offshore Western Australia, according to partner Cue Energy.

The well site survey is expected to begin soon: preparations for the well Environment Plan are advancing, with the semisubmersible Ocean Apex booked for the drilling campaign in late 2020.

Elsewhere, in Cue’s other offshore concessions, a replacement electric submersible pump is due to be installed in the MR3 well on the Maari field offshore New Zealand.

This will be followed by a re-start of the well, and installation of increased capacity ESP equipment in MR6a.

Offshore Indonesia, the Paus Biru gas discovery is progressing through regulatory and joint venture requirements for the plan of development.

The partners are considering commissioning a further exploration well.
