OMV adds water injector at offshore New Zealand field complex

MELBOURNE, Australia – Cue Energy has issued a brief update on intervention activity at the Maari and Manaia fields in the Taranaki basin offshore New Zealand.
Operator OMV has converted the MR5 production well to a water injector to provide pressure support for the Maari Moki reservoir.
Testing is under way of the water injection rate, along with the MR1 injector, to optimize production.
Workovers were needed on the MR3 and M10 wells following issued with their electric submersible pumps. Both wells are now back in production.
