CONSTANŢA, Romania – OMV Petrom has contracted the jackup GSP Uranus for a new round of development drilling in the Romanian sector of the Black Sea.
The rig will drill two wells on the Lebada-East field in the Istria block, at subsurface depths of more than 2,000 m (6,562 ft), designed to increase production.
The GSP Uranus is a cantilever type, Marathon Le Tourneau Class 116-C design rig with a maximum drilling depth of 7,600 m (24,934 ft).
