CoreMarine acquires Brazilian offshore services firm BravOcean

CoreMarine's acquisition of BravOcean expands its in-country capabilities for offshore and subsea project support in Brazil.

Why this news matters:

  • The acquisition highlights continued investment in Brazil's expanding offshore and presalt development market.

  • The deal gives CoreMarine a stronger local operating base and in-country project delivery capabilities.

  • This reflects ongoing demand for subsea installation and SURF expertise supporting deepwater developments.

CoreMarine reported Sept. 17 that it has acquired Brazilian offshore services company BravOcean, expanding its presence in one of the world's busiest subsea energy markets. The deal broadens CoreMarine's local capabilities in subsea installation support, project management and specialist personnel services for deepwater SURF developments.

According to Ben Fitzgerald, CEO of CoreMarine, the acquisition builds on a longstanding relationship between the two companies and will combine international offshore expertise with BravOcean's local market knowledge to support growing demand in Brazil's offshore sector.

BravOcean provides offshore project management and subsea installation support services for energy projects in Brazil. CoreMarine said the acquisition strengthens its ability to deliver offshore and subsea construction, project delivery and technical services as activity continues to increase in the country's deepwater market.
