Energean says its $1.2 billion Katlan gas field development offshore Israel is on track to deliver first gas during first-half 2027, according to its recent trading update.
The company issued a Letter of Award recently to NOV for an upgrade of the topsides of the host FPSO Energean Power, in terms of MEG treatment, injection and storage.
For the Prinos CO2 project offshore western Greece, Energean has signed three new non-binding memoranda of understanding (MoUs). There are now 15 signed MoUs covering a total of 6.12 MM metric tons/year of storage.
Initial offshore drilling and well testing may start in 2026.
Elsewhere in the region, the company is looking to merge its Egyptian offshore concessions to streamline the fiscal terms and extend the producing fields’ economic lives. It has also identified potential debottlenecking projects and near-field infill drilling opportunities around its offshore Abu Qir hub.
Serica continues offshore development work
Serica Energy also issued updates on its ongoing projects in the UK North Sea.
Repairs to the Dana Petroleum-operated Triton FPSO have been completed following various issues arising after Storm Éowyn. Production should restart once the annual maintenance program has finished. Prior to the shutdown, Serica’s production through the Triton hub was about 25,000 boe/d.
The resumption will allow both the W7z well on the Guillemot North West field (Serica 10%) and the EV02 well on the Evelyn field (Serica 100%) to enter production.
The BE01 development well on Serica’s 100%-owned Belinda field (Serica 100%) has been flow tested through the semisub COSL Innovator; rates of 7,500 boe/d were constrained by the surface well test equipment design specs.
Attention now switches to the installation of subsea infrastructure (Belinda will be tied in to Triton), with first production expected in early 2026. Around the same time, the company could take FID on the Kyle field redevelopment.
