Faroe chasing more oil in North Sea Brasse area

The semisubmersible Transocean Arctic has spudded the Brasse East exploration well 31/7-3 S in the northern Norwegian North Sea.

ABERDEEN, UK – The semisubmersible Transocean Arctic has spudded the Brasse East exploration well 31/7-3 S in the northern Norwegian North Sea.

The location is in 124 m (407 ft) water depth, east of the2016 Brasse field discovery, which in turn is south of the producing Brage and Oseberg fields. Anticipated vertical depth of the well is around 2,271 m (7,451 ft).

OperatorFaroe Petroleum hopes to prove more oil to strengthen the field development case.

At the end of last year, the feasibility study phase was completed, confirming various economic development solutions and export routes and concept studies are progressing.

Point Resources is the co-venturer in the Brasse PL 740/PL 740 B/PL 740 C licenses.
