ADELAIDE, Australia – Front-end engineering and subsurface studies continue for a development well on the Henry field in the Otway basin offshore Victoria, according to operator Cooper Energy.

Pending rig availability, drilling could start during the December quarter 2019, the company added.

On Cooper’s offshore VIC/P44 3D permit, a quantitative interpretation seismic inversion volume has been integrated into other exploration studies, leading to identification of numerous low-risk exploration prospects.

The joint venture is considering drilling up to two targets, again subject to rig availability.

At theSole field development in the offshore Gippsland basin, Subsea 7 was due to finish installation of the 65-km (40.4-mi) subsea pipeline this month.

Once spooling and factory acceptance has been completed for the control umbilical, it will be transported from the UK to Australia for loading by the installation vessel,Skandi Acergy, in December. Installation should follow next February.
