Eni to assess Bahrain’s offshore potential

Bahrain’s authorities have invited Eni to assess the potential of some of the country’s exploration and production assets.

MANAMA, BahrainBahrain’s authorities have invited Eni to assess the potential of some of the country’s exploration and production assets.

To this end Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi signed four agreements with the Bahrain Petroleum Co. (Bapco) and Tatweer Petroleum in the presence of the Oil Minister H.E. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa.

Under the accord, Eni will have access to data for concerning the potential of oil and gas fields within the country’s offshore and onshore areas.

Once the studies are concluded, the company and the Bahrain authorities will jointly assess future potential initiatives in the Kingdom, with a view to cooperating on further developments of the country’s energy resources.
