Eni inks MoU to explore offshore Bahrain

The National Oil and Gas Authority of the Kingdom of Bahrain and Eni have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore block 1 offshore northern Bahrain.

MANAMA, Bahrain– The National Oil and Gas Authority of the Kingdom of Bahrain (NOGA) and Eni have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore block 1 offshore northern Bahrain.

Block 1 is more than 2,800 sq km (1,081 sq mi) in water depths ranging from 10 to 70 m (32 to 230 ft).

H.E. Sh. Mohamed Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Oil of Bahrain and chairman of the board of directors in NOGA, said: “This strategic partnership with Eni is a major step towards utilizing the Kingdom’s offshore natural resources. With this signing, we aim to hold various discussions to review all relevant aspects of the technical and commercial terms of the potential exploration and development within a reduced timeframe.”
