Jumbo installs CALM buoys, PLEMs for Vaca Muerta export terminal offshore Argentina

Jumbo Offshore has completed transport and installation of two CALM buoys and two PLEMs for the VMOS project offshore Argentina, a key export infrastructure development designed to support growing Vaca Muerta oil production and future VLCC exports.

Why this news matters:

  • The VMOS project will create new export capacity for crude produced from Argentina's rapidly growing Vaca Muerta shale basin.

  • Installation of the CALM buoys and PLEMs marks a key offshore infrastructure milestone for the new export terminal.

  • The terminal is designed to handle up to 550,000 b/d initially, with potential expansion to 700,000 b/d, supporting larger-scale crude exports via VLCCs.
