CIMC Raffles Offshore has asked Huisman to supply an integrated crane package for a new offshore installation vessel, commissioned by SBM Offshore and Solstad Offshore.
Huisman will deliver a 350-mt A-frame, 500-mt knuckle boom crane, a 20-mt auxiliary crane, and a 2,500-mt basket for storing flexibles, fiber ropes and mooring chains.
This equipment will support wide-ranging offshore construction and installation tasks.
The A-frame, which will enable rope to be run from the vessel’s main winch package, will feature Huisman’s active heave compensation technology, supporting operations in harsh offshore conditions.
The equipment consignment overall will provide the lifting and handling capabilities needed for the vessel to perform work on offshore projects globally.
The lifting package is expected to support the vessel's planned role in FPSO mooring installation, subsea construction, riser pull-in and deepwater field development activities.
Vessel design specifications
The vessel will be owned through a joint venture in which Solstad Offshore holds a 50.1% interest and SBM Offshore 49.9%, with Solstad serving as ship manager. The venture has secured an initial 14-year charter agreement with SBM Offshore.
