ABS has awarded Jana Marine Service what it claims is the first CR-Ex cyber resilience notation to three self-elevating offshore vessels.

The notation for the JANA 505, 508 and 509 incorporates elements of IACS UR E26 Cyber Resilience (CR) requirements into existing (Ex) vessels to enhance cyber safety, ABS said in a press release of September 14.

The CR-Ex notation forms part of ABS’ updated Guide for Cybersecurity Implementation for the Marine and Offshore Industries, CyberSafety Volume 2. This details requirements for operational technology control systems and related IT systems on offshore assets and commercial vessels.

Jana Marine Service, a subsidiary of Rashed Al-Rashed & Sons Group, provides marine offshore services for construction and maintenance to the oil and gas sector in the Middle East.

These include marine logistics, topside maintenance, offshore wellhead tie-ins, fabrication pre-commissioning and commissioning assistance to offshore platforms and facilities, offshore hook up and commissioning, and mechanical and electrical works.
