HOUSTON -- The Petroleum Safety Authority of Norway has granted Rowan Companies Inc. an acknowledgement of compliance (AoC) for the jackup Rowan Gorilla VI, enabling the rig to begin operations in the Norwegian Sector of the North Sea.
“Rowan is very pleased to have met the rigorous conditions of the Norwegian authorities to drill on the Norwegian continental shelf, one of the most demanding drilling environments in the world,” says Matt Ralls, president and CEO of Rowan. “Currently, Rowan is one of only three of the world's major contractors with an AoC authorized jackup.”
