Havtil clears Shelf jackup to resume North Sea drilling program

The Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority (Havtil) has issued an acknowledgement of compliance for Shelf Drilling (North Sea)'s Shelf Drilling Barsk jackup.

Drilling operations are now set to start in the next few weeks.

In April, Equinor extended the rig’s contract at the Gudrun field in the North Sea to cover two firm wells with an estimated duration of 254 days, plus options. The rig was first due to drill for Equinor at Sleipner Vest, which had a production platform shut down last week due to smoke in the switchgear room.
