Vantage exercises drillship options

Vantage Energy Services has exercised its previously announced option, through Offshore Group Investments, to acquire the ultra deepwater drillship Platinum Explorer.

HOUSTON -- Vantage Energy Services has exercised its previously announced option, through Offshore Group Investments, to acquire the ultra deepwater drillship Platinum Explorer. It also has obtained an option to acquire a second ultra deepwater drillship Titanium Explorer.

Both drillships are under construction at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering's shipyard in Korea.
