Devon secures Gorilla II for GoM drilling

Devon Energy has signed a contract with Rowan Companies for the Gorilla class jackup, Gorilla II for operations in the Gulf of Mexico.

HOUSTON -- Devon Energy has signed a contract with Rowan Companies for the Gorilla class jackup, Gorilla II for operations in the Gulf of Mexico.

The two-year commitment is scheduled to begin in January 2009. The rig will be performing drilling services as well as assisting Devon with various construction projects.
