Signal to inspect semisub Ocean America

PASCAGOULA, Mississippi -- Diamond Offshore has awarded Signal International a contract to perform modifications and inspections on the semisubmersible Ocean America to ensure compliance with ABS Special Survey requirements.
The vessel will be drydocked at Signal's Port Arthur, Texas yard in early 2009. It will undergo inspections to the anchor chain and propeller shaft, piping modifications, sacrificial anode replacements as well as new paint for the hull and derrick.
