OSLO, Norway — The FLNG Gimi has left the Seatrium Shipyard and is heading east toward the bp-operated Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) gas-condensate production hub offshore Mauritania and Senegal.

According to supplier Golar LNG, the vessel is sailing under its own propulsion, supported by an escort tug. The voyage should last about 60 days, including refuelling stops in Mauritius prior to rounding the Cape of Good Hope and then in Namibia.

On arrival, the crew will notify bp that the vessel is ready to be moored and connected to the hub. This should lead to the start of contractual cash flows under the 20-year lease and operate agreement on the GTA Field.
