BELFAST, UK — Cenovus Energy has awarded Harland & Wolff a £61-million ($74.24-million) contract to perform a mid-life upgrade on the SeaRose FPSO.
SeaRose, which operates at the White Rose oil and gas field 350 km southeast of Newfoundland, will sail from eastern Canada and should reach the Belfast yard in early 2024, where it will remain in the Building Dock for more than three months.
It was previously in Belfast for a stay in the same yard in 2012.
Pre-arrival preparations have started at the yard, including inspections, steel procurement, fabrication of customized blocks and other dry dock tasks, and further fabrication to make the facility ready to begin the refurbishment and upgrade works will start as soon as the vessel arrives.
Harland & Wolff expects to employ 1,000 personnel at the site for the program.
