OSLO, Norway — Production should have ceased permanently at the Shell-operated Knarr Field in the Norwegian North Sea.

According to Altera Infrastructure, supplier of the Petrojarl Knarr FPSO, decommissioning activity related to the vessel should now be ready to start.

In February, Altera signed a FEED agreement with Equinor for redeployment of Petrojarl Knarr on the deepwater Rosebank Field west of Shetland.

Aker Solutions is working on the FEED for Rosebank’s subsea production system and umbilicals, according to the company’s latest results statement.

Elsewhere, Altera has signed an agreement with Energean Israel to deploy the circular Arendal Spirit floater on a 100-day firm contract with extension options.

Offshore Brazil, Enauta has agreed to extend the Petrojarl I FPSO contract by a year to May, with the option for an additional one-year extension to May 2025.

In April, Altera took delivery of Altrea Thule, the final newbuilding in a series of seven shuttle tankers. It plans to operate the vessel offshore eastern Canada.

Finally, the company has completed the sale of the FPSO Petrojarl Varg, which formerly operated on the Varg Field in the Norwegian North Sea, to an unnamed energy company for reuse as a production facility for a new field development opportunity.
