CIMC Raffles delivers Perro Negro 11 rig to Saipem

Saipem has taken delivery of the modified jackup drilling rig Perro Negro 11 (ex-Gulf Driller VII), following a naming ceremony at the CIMC shipyard in Longkou, China.

SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy  Saipem has taken delivery of the modified jackup drilling rig Perro Negro 11 (ex-Gulf Driller VII), following a naming ceremony at the CIMC shipyard in Longkou, China.

The company has chartered the rig on a bareboat basis, with a five-year contract secured for operations for Saudi Aramco.

In addition, Saipem has signed a memorandum of understanding with CIMC Raffles to pursue further opportunities in offshore drilling and construction and “New Energies."

Perro Negro 11, equipped with MH Wirth drilling equipment, is 70 m long, 76 m wide and with a total trussed length of 167 m. Its maximum operational water depth is 120 m, with a maximum drilling depth of 10,668 m.
