STAVANGER, Norway – Equinor has contracted Simon Møkster Shipping to a provide service operation vessel (SOV) at the Hywind Tampen floating wind farm in the Norwegian North Sea.

The contract will be served by the 2014-built Stril Server. The contract is expected to start in 2Q 2022, and the duration is 150 days plus options.

Over the last years, the Stril Server has conducted several thousand walk-to-work (W2W) and crane operations at various wind farms in the North Sea, the company said.

This will be Møkster’s first SOV/W2W project on the Norwegian continental shelf.

Hywind Tampen will be the world’s largest floating offshore wind farm, and the first designed specifically for powering oil and gas production platforms.
