Edda Wind, AWind vessels to work at Dogger Bank offshore the UK

Dogger Bank Wind Farm has awarded charter contracts to Edda Wind and AWind AS for their newbuild commissioning service operation vessels.

OSLO, NorwayDogger Bank Wind Farm has awarded charter contracts to Edda Wind and AWind AS for their newbuild commissioning service operation vessels (CSOVs).

Both contracts are expected to start in 2Q 2023.

The vessels will support commissioning of the 13-MW GE Renewable Energy Haliade-X turbines on the first two phases of the development, Dogger Bank A and B, until completion in 2025.

Located more than 130 km (81 mi) offshore northeast England, Dogger Bank is being built in three 1.2-GW phases.

Dogger Bank A and B is a joint venture between SSE Renewables (40%), Equinor (40%), and Eni (20%). Dogger Bank C is a 50:50 joint venture between Equinor and SSE Renewables.

China Merchants Heavy industry is constructing two CSOVs for AWind. Delivery is scheduled for 2023.

Astilleros Gondan in Spain is building four CSOVs for Edda Wind.
