The Voltaire is specifically designed to transport, lift, and install offshore wind turbines, transition pieces, and foundations for current and future developments. It will also be deployable for the oil and gas industry and for decommissioning of offshore structures.
The vessel will be equipped with a main crane of more than 3,000 metric tons and a DP-2 system. It will also have an operating depth of more than 80 m (262 ft), a payload of about 14,000 metric tons, and accommodation for 110 persons.
The Voltaire will also be equipped with a dual exhaust filter system that removes up to 99% of nanoparticles from emissions using a diesel particulate filter followed by selective catalytic reduction system for NOx removal.
As a result of these exhaust filtering systems, the Voltaire will be the first seaworthy installation vessel in the world with extremely low emissions, the company claimed.
