DOF orders ballast systems for offshore fleet

Optimarin has signed an agreement to install 16 Optimarin ballast systems on DOF offshore vessels, with an option to extend to 50 vessels in total.

STAVANGER, Norway – Optimarin has signed an agreement to install 16 Optimarin ballast systems on DOF offshore vessels, with an option to extend to 50 vessels in total.

The USCG-approved systems will be fitted to platform supply, subsea construction and anchor handler tug supply vessels.

DOF will take delivery of three systems this year, with the remainder to follow in 2021 and 2022. The company will install some systems under scheduled sailings, with the crews undertaking all fitting, while Optimarin handles commissioning.

Remaining units will be installed during planned dry dockings and IOPP certificate renewals.
