Petrobras selects Strohm composite pipe technology for offshore Brazil post-salt fields

Petrobras has contracted Strohm to supply thermoplastic composite pipe (TCP) for water injection and gas lift operations in its offshore Brazil post-salt fields, with offshore trials planned in water depths of up to 1,500 m.

Why this news matters:

  • The project provides another real-world deepwater deployment opportunity for thermoplastic composite pipe technology as operators seek lighter alternatives to conventional flexible and rigid pipe systems.

  • Petrobras' evaluation of TCP in offshore Brazil could influence future adoption of composite pipeline solutions for subsea production and injection systems.
