AIS to insulate Mero 4 subsea jumpers offshore Brazil

AIS has secured a subsea insulation contract award for the latest phase of Petrobras’ deepwater Mero field development in the presalt Santos basin offshore Brazil.

AIS has secured a subsea insulation contract award for the latest phase of Petrobras’ deepwater Mero field development in the presalt Santos basin offshore Brazil.

For the Mero 4 project, 200 km offshore Rio de Janeiro, AIS will supply its ContraTherm C25 insulation for the production PLET and the production and water-alternating-gas jumpers.

It will be the company’s fifth delivery award for these types of structures in the region.

According to AIS' Jan. 15 news release, ContraTherm C25 provides flow assurance for complex subsea equipment in operating temperatures of up to 150 C (302 F) and water depths of 3,000 m.
