HOUSTON — PTTEP Sabah Oil has awarded McDermott an offshore transportation, installation and commissioning contract for the Kikeh subsea gas-lift project.

The location is 75 miles (120 km) northwest of the island of Labuan offshore Sabah in East Malaysia.

McDermott will remove the existing flexible gas-lift riser and install/commission a new dynamic riser section and flowline comprising two thermoplastic composite pipe jumpers.

This will allow gas to be delivered to a subsea production system tied back to the deepwater Kikeh FPSO.

The company installed the original subsea infrastructure in the Kikeh Field between 2011 and 2012, and at the nearby Siakap North-Petai Field in 2014.

McDermott’s base in Kuala Lumpur will undertake project management and engineering with support from group offices elsewhere.

PTTEP operates Kikeh in partnership with Petronas Carigali and PT Pertamina Malaysia Exploration Production.
