ABERDEEN, UK – Maersk Oil UK has contracted FES International to supply 22 diverless bend stiffener connectors (DBSCs) for the Gryphon FPSO in the UK North Sea.

The DBSCs are designed to enable quick and efficient installation of riser and umbilical bend stiffeners in congested or confined areas. The contract value is $4.7 million.

FES has tailored the latching mechanisms in line with Maersk’s requirement for an automatic intervention, providing safer and more reliable connections.

The floater was removed from the Gryphon field after suffering storm-related damage in February, and has been docked in Rotterdam for repairs.
