MANAMA, Bahrain – Bapco and Saudi Aramco expect to issue contracts shortly to replace an ageing crude oil pipeline between the two countries with a new 30-in. line.

Out of a total length of 115 km (71.4 mi), 42 km (26 mi) will be subsea with the remaining 73 km (45 mi) onshore.

In January the companies gave an overview of requirements to bidders for the offshore portion in Dubai.

According to a Bapco spokesman, the project “will also cater to future increase in crude oil demand post implementation of the Bapco Modernization Program.”
