LYSAKER, Norway – Fabrication has started on the first of three subsea manifolds for Aker BP’s 120-MMboe Skarv Satellite Project (SSP) in the northern Norwegian Sea at Aker Solutions’ workshop halls in Sandnessjøen.
SSP will extend the lifespan of the Skarv FPSO. Prefabrication is also underway in Mosjøen, with further engineering and construction work taking place in the Helgeland region in Nordland County. Aker BP’s Modifications Alliance with Aker Solutions is responsible for adaptations to the FPSO.
Production is due to start in summer 2027.
Currently Skarv produces about 22 MMcm/d of gas and 25,000 bbl/d of condensate. The SSP fields will account for roughly 60% of Aker BP’s net production from the Skarv area.
