Aker BP starts production from Skarv satellite fields offshore Norway

Aker BP has started production from the Alve Nord, Idun Nord and Ørn satellite fields tied back to the Skarv FPSO in the Norwegian Sea, bringing an estimated 120 MMboe resource online one year ahead of schedule.

Aker BP has started producing gas-condensate from the Skarv Satellite Project in the northern Norwegian Sea, one year ahead of schedule.

The Skarv FPSO serves as a regional production hub and has become a key tieback destination for nearby discoveries.

The combined development of the Alve Nord, Idun Nord and Ørn fields should recover about 120 MMboe.

Each has been developed via a subsea template and two wells tied back to the Skarv FPSO, with a projected CO2 intensity of roughly 4.5 kg of CO2 per boe.

Aker BP’s alliance with OneSubsea, Subsea7, Aker Solutions and Halliburton co-managed the project, with Saipem participating in the drilling phase.

The project should also provide a foundation for further development in the area in the future.
