DNO lets Norwegian subsea decommissioning contract

DNO has awarded KDS JV AS, the joint venture between DOF Subsea and Aker Solutions, a subsea decommissioning contract on the Norwegian continental shelf.

STOREBØ, NorwayDNO has awarded KDS JV AS, the joint venture between DOF Subsea and Aker Solutions, a subsea decommissioning contract on the Norwegian continental shelf.

The contract includes engineering, preparation, removal and disposal work of associated subsea hardware.

Project scope includes the removal and disposal of subsea infrastructure including template, manifold, production spools, umbilical, covers and associated hardware.

The project will be delivered by an integrated expert team from the JV partners. DOF Subsea will deploy the ROV construction support vessel Skandi Acergy, and Aker Solutions will use its disposal site at Stord for recycling.

Engineering will start immediately, and offshore execution is planned in 1Q 2022. However, there is a possibility for an earlier start in 4Q 2021.
