TechnipFMC to supply subsea hardware for PowerNap

HOUSTON Shell has awarded TechnipFMC an integrated engineering, procurement, construction, and installation contract for the PowerNap project in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico.

The company will design, manufacture, and install subsea hardware, including subsea tree systems, subsea distribution controls, topside controls, flying leads and connectors for three wells, in addition to the supply of 20 mi (32 km) of production umbilical and flowlines.

Located in Mississippi Canyon block 943, PowerNap is a subsea tieback to the Olympus production hub.

Production is expected to start in late 2021 and produce up to 35,000 boe/d at peak rates.
