Dolphin rig starts drilling assignment offshore India

Dolphin Drilling’s Blackford Dolphin deepwater semisubmersible rig started a long-term exploration drilling contract Nov. 11 for Oil India offshore India. 

The rig arrived in Indian waters last month and has since completed client acceptance.

Dolphin has prior experience with operations offshore India and has strengthened its presence in the region by forming a partnership with local offshore contractor Dynamic Drilling.

Another Dolphin semisub, the Paul B. Loyd, Jr., is on contract to Harbour Energy in the UK North Sea until February 2028.
