Lamprell jackup departs UAE for Saudi Arabia
SHARJAH, UAE — Lamprell has delivered a second newbuild jackup rig, KINGDOM 2, to International Maritime Industries (IMI).
It follows the handover last month of KINGDOM 1 in 2023 and a naming ceremony at Lamprell’s Hamriyah complex.
KINGDOM 2 was a collaboration between Lamrpell, IMI and ARO Drilling for use offshore Saudi Arabia.
The rig, based on the LeTourneau Super 116E design, is said to provide high-spec drilling technology and accommodation for up to 120 people.
It also marks the 30th newbuild jackup drilling rig that Lamprell has delivered to clients globally.
