Equinor extends Odfjell rig’s firm program offshore Norway

ABERDEEN, UK — Equinor has taken up a contractual option to extend use of Odfjell Drilling’s semisub Deepsea Aberdeen for eight wells offshore Norway.

The options should take effect in fourth-quarter 2025 upon completion of the current firm period and will keep the rig occupied through summer 2026. Value of the options is about $121 million, excluding integrated services, performance and fuel incentives.

Equinor has further options to keep the rig until 2029.
