CNOOC Petroleum Europe has contracted Shelf Drilling’s newly acquired Shelf Drilling Fortress jackup for operations alongside the Golden Eagle platform.
Starting in September, the rig will drill two wells over a four- to five-month period at an estimated cost of about $17 million. The contract includes options for additional wells with a total estimated duration of 13 months.
The rig was formerly known as the Noble Sam Hartley.
