MONACO — The Cidade de Anchieta FPSO, which produces oil for Petrobras from the Parque das Baleias area offshore Brazil, remains shut down following an oil leak in January.
SBM Offshore, which charters the vessel to Petrobras, said in its latest results statement that tank inspection and repair work is progressing, with a restart at full production now expected by the end of this year.
The estimated future cost of repairs will require a one-off impairment charge in the range $75 million to $100 million.
As for other FPSOs under construction, integration and commissioning activities are progressing for the Sepetiba with the project on track for first oil in 2023.
The same applies to the Prosperity FPSO, ordered by Exxon Mobil for the Payara oil project off Guyana. In August a section of the yard’s quayside alongside the vessel gave way, leading to a fatality. Damage assessment has been completed, and the effect on the schedule appears to be limited.
The Almirante Tamandaré FPSO’s topsides fabrication and Fast4Ward hull construction are proceeding as planned, in the run-up to first oil in 2024. Work also continues on the Alexandre de Gusmão FPSO, with the Fast4Ward hull launched out of drydock.
Topsides construction is underway on yards in China and Singapore for FPSO ONE GUYANA, with first oil expected in 2025.
Finally, SBM has placed an order for a seventh Fast4Ward MPF hull, with construction set to start in the first quarter. ExxonMobil Guyana has signed a memorandum of understanding granting exclusivity over the hull.
