MONACO  The Cidade de Anchieta FPSO remains shut down, six months after oil was observed close to the vessel during operations for Petrobras in the Espirito Santo Basin offshore Brazil.

In its latest results statement, SBM Offshore said an estimated 191 cu. m of oil was released to the sea. The vessel, which had been operating in the Parque das Baleias area, is currently undergoing inspection, cleaning and repairs.

SBM is working with all parties, including the Brazilian authorities and class providers, to resume production later this year.

Another SBM-operated platform that worked in the same basin, the 1974-built FPSO Capixaba, ceased production in May, with the company now preparing for the vessel’s demobilization.

Work continues on three further vessels for Brazilian projects:

  • Integration and commissioning of the FPSO Sepetiba (first oil due in 2023);
  • Topsides fabrication and construction of the Fast4Ward MPF hull for the FPSO Almirante Tamandaré (planned startup in second-half 2024); and
  • The FPSO Alexandre de Gusmão, with construction underway again of the MPF hull following a yard shutdown.

In this case, first oil is expected in 2025.

As for SBM’s production line of floaters for the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana, an upgrade flash gas compressor has been installed on Liza Destiny and is performing as planned.

The Prosperity FPSO is into the integration and commissioning phase following completion of the topsides fabrication and module lifting campaign, with first oil likely before year-end 2023.

Engineering remains on track for the FPSO ONE GUYANA, due to produce first oil in 2025.

SBM has now ordered a seventh Fast4Ward MPF hull and expects to take delivery in 2024.

Finally, the company plans to acquire the 49% equity ownership held by its partner in the SBM Nauvata engineering center in Bangalore, India, with a view to completing the acquisition in 2023.
