ARENDONK, Belgium – German grid operator 50Hertz has awarded the HSI consortium of HSM Offshore Energy, Smulders and Iv-Offshore & Energy an EPCI platform contract for the 927-MW Gennaker wind farm development in the German sector of the Baltic Sea.

The award includes jackets for Gennaker 1 (West) and 2 (East).

Last year, 50Hertz commissioned the same consortium to construct the 300-MW Ostwind 3 HVAC platform and its jacket.

Engineering for the Gennaker platforms has already started.
