Greater Changhua 1 & 2a substations in place offshore Taiwan

LEIDEN, the Netherlands – Heerema’s heavy lift vessel Aegir has installed the two substations at Ørsted’s 900-MW Greater Changhua 1 & 2a wind farms offshore Taiwan.

The substations were installed on Thursday, Nov. 4, Heerema revealed via social media.

Located 35-60 km (22-37 mi) off the coast of Changhua County, Greater Changhua 1 & 2a are the largest wind farms under construction offshore Taiwan.

They are expected to be operational next year and power more than 1 million households in Taiwan.
