Finance in place for Greater Changhua 2 wind project offshore Taiwan

Located offshore Taiwan, Greater Changhua 2 is a 632-MW offshore wind farm that comprises both Greater Changhua 2a (operational) and Greater Changhua 2b (under construction).

Ørsted has reached financial closure for the 632-MW Greater Changhua 2 wind farm development offshore Taiwan.

The company negotiated a project finance package with 25 banks and five export credit agencies to raise about TWD 90 billion ($2.4 billion).

At the same time, the company is progressing an equity divestment that it expects to complete once the project is operational. 

Greater Changhua 2 is 50 km to 60 km from the coast of Changhua County, Taiwan. It comprises Greater Changhua 2a, which is operational, and Greater Changhua 2b, currently under construction and due to be commissioned toward the end of this year.
