LONDON – bp has entered an agreement with Quaybridge, a UK-based renewables consultancy.

They will collaborate to further develop bp’s global offshore wind portfolio and in-house offshore wind knowledge.

Quaybridge, formed in 2018 by Everoze, is said to have compiled a multi-disciplinary team with many years of offshore wind development expertise and various technical/consenting specialisms.

The company helped bp/EnBW achieve ‘preferred bidder’ status for the Mona and Morgan Irish Sea leases in the recent UK Round 4 leasing round. The same parties are now participating in the ScotWind leasing round, but this is not covered by the consultancy agreement with bp.

Last year, bp and Equinor formed a partnership to develop offshore wind projects in the US. bp is currently bidding with various co-venturers to develop offshore wind off the coasts of Scotland and Norway.

By 2030 the company aims to have built around 50 GW of net renewable generating capacity, up from 3.3 GW in 2020.
