OSLO, Norwaybp, Statkraft, and Aker Offshore Wind are forming a ‎consortium to bid for offshore wind energy projects in Norway.

Each company will hold a 33.3% ‎interest. Their focus will be the Sørlige Nordsjø II (SN2) ‎license area, said to provide a favorable location for power export access to local and adjacent markets.

In addition, the partners plan to assess opportunities to provide clean power to electrify ‎offshore oil and gas facilities, working with local suppliers to develop ‎industrial competencies for Norway’s offshore wind market.

All three companies bring solid ‎experience in offshore energy projects, covering the full chain from development to ‎delivery to market of offshore renewable energy.‎

bp has interests in the US and UK offshore wind sectors, along with North Sea development and operating ‎experience and international energy trading capabilities.

Aker contributes experience from five decades of designing and ‎executing offshore projects in the North Sea as supplier, developer, and operator.

Aker ‎Horizons will work with the consortium on strategy and financing, ‎supported by Cognite and Aker Solutions.‎
