Island support vessel secures work at Hywind Tampen

Equinor has awarded Island Offshore a service operation vessel contract for the Hywind Tampen floating wind farm project in Norway.

ULSTEINVIK, NorwayEquinor has awarded Island Offshore a service operation vessel contract for the Hywind Tampen floating wind farm project in Norway.

The walk-to-work vessel Island Diligence will execute the contract, which is expected to start during 2Q 2022. The contract has a firm period of four months plus options to extend.

Hywind Tampen will be the world’s largest floating offshore wind farm, and the first designed specifically to power oil and gas production platforms. It will provide 88 MW of power to five platforms at the Snorre and Gullfaks fields in the Norwegian North Sea.
