OKEA set to join partners in North Sea Alpehumle wildcat

The Alpehumle prospect offshore Norway is within tieback range of the Gjøa platform.

OKEA has an agreement with Harbour Energy Norge to farm into a 20% interest in the PL1153 offshore Norway, subject to approval from the authorities, OKEA reported Aug. 28.

Operator Aker BP is preparing to drill the Alpehumle prospect early next year in the license. The well location is 35 km north of the Gjøa hub area, in which OKEA has a 12% working interest.

OKEA’s position in the greater Gjøa area is strengthened by the farm-in of Alpehumle, located about 35 km north of the Gjøa platform. The effective date for the transaction is Jan. 1, 2025.
