Vår Energi has entered a five-year subsea collaboration agreement with TechnipFMC Norge.

This would deploy TechnipFMC’s integrated commercial model for engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (iEPCI) for future subsea tiebacks close to the Gjøa semisubmersible production platform in the Norwegian North Sea.

The agreement is on behalf of the license owners in the Gjøa Nord, Cerisa and Ofelia discoveries and covers integrated execution of workscopes for subsea production systems and subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines (SURF).

Vår Energi COO Torger Rød, said: "Currently we are maturing the three oil and gas discoveries for a planned subsea development that will be tied back to the Gjøa platform.” The aim of the agreement, he added, is to deliver a faster and more cost-effective development.

Gjøa Nord, Cerisa and Ofelia discoveries contain estimated combined resources of up to 110 MMboe. The plan is to coordinate the three developments, pending approval from the partners, to achieve synergies in procurement, engineering, drilling, installation and project follow-up.

FID is expected in 2026.

Rød added that his company aimed to draw on TechnipFMC's wide-ranging experience on the Norwegian continental shelf and in the Gjøa area in particular.

We look forward to continuing the collaboration. Together, we will optimize the development solution and ensure efficient project execution in order to maximize value creation.”
